History

Brand milestones

1898

In Berlin, Hans Schwarzkopf opens a small drugstore.

1955

Schwarzkopf develops ‘Taft’, the ’liquid hairnet’, the first hairspray to hit the European market.

1967

Taft introduces the first styling product in a gel form to the market.

1971

Taft becomes known as 3 Wetter Taft (3 Weather Taft).

1987

Schwarzkopf leads the way by becoming the first major manufacturer to produce CFC free hairsprays.

1999

Setting the trend: the new XPRESS range is launched.

2000

Taft goes Europe: Schwarzkopf‘s famous styling brand is launched in France, Italy and Belgium.

2003

Successfully targeting men, Taft enters the male styling segment with its new Power line.

2004

Taft XPRESS is re-launched as Taft Looks, the trend styling line of 3 Wetter Taft. Now you can get a cool individual look that lasts in all conditions!

2006

Major Re-launch of all lines in all countries. Taft integrates the new Senso Touch Effect in all products.

2007

Heidi Klum becomes new ambassador for Taft. She presents the new Volume Push-Up Line.
